For Ford enthusiasts dedicated to maximizing performance, MSD introduces a distributor designed for serious applications. Positioned just beneath the brass terminals of the MSD cap and rotor, an easily adjustable mechanical advance assembly awaits. This assembly, finely blanked from chromoly steel, undergoes TIG-welding for robustness and is coated with QPQ for added durability. The precision weights effortlessly slide on nylon bushings, ensuring seamless advancement. Various springs and stop bushings are provided, allowing for the fine-tuning of a diverse range of advance curves.
The steel shaft responsible for spinning the advance and reluctor undergoes a friction-reducing coating and is guided by a sealed ball bearing and a lengthy sintered bushing. This combination guarantees consistent timing signals and spark delivery across the entire RPM spectrum. Triggering responsibilities fall into the hands of MSD’s race-proven, maintenance-free magnetic pickup.
