The MSD Direct Ignition System (DIS) controller simplifies the transition from traditional distributor-type engines to a Coil-Per-Plug configuration, offering numerous benefits. This includes the elimination of wear on distributor caps and rotors, minimized spark energy losses from lengthy plug wires, and the ability to fine-tune ignition parameters. The integrated 2.5 Bar MAP Sensor, along with an optional temperature sensor input, ensures optimal power and reliability for Naturally Aspirated or Forced Induction engine setups. Nitrous-fed engines benefit from the Step Retard feature, while drag racers appreciate the 2-Step Rev Limiter and Launch Retard features. Real-time configuration changes are effortlessly managed with the user-friendly MSDView software.
With MSDView’s real-time monitor feature and the DIS controller’s 8 MB of internal data storage, data monitoring and logging are streamlined. The labeled wiring harness, complemented by a comprehensive range of supporting components and accessories, makes the conversion of distributor-type engines to a Coil-Per-Plug ignition system straightforward and efficient.
