While the F-150 is tough from the factory, its underbody, especially components like the oil pan, cross member, and front differential, are left exposed with only a factory splash shield. That’s where the Borne Off-Road Engine Skid Plate comes in, offering the extra shield your engine bay needs against potential hazards.
Built to be tough as nails, this skid plate is constructed from 5/32-inch plate steel, engineered to withstand anything the trail can throw at it. Recessed mounting points provide a smooth bottom surface, preventing hardware from getting snagged or damaged by obstacles, while additional mounting points deliver superior strength. All edges and corners are bent at 80 degrees and reinforced for maximum durability.
For a long-lasting finish, the skid plate is electro-galvanized for rust resistance and black powder-coated, ensuring it stays looking sharp and protected against corrosion. This skid plate is a direct-fit component, and with all required hardware included, installation is a breeze—taking less than an hour with basic hand tools.
