However, doing so raises the front of the car, throwing off the chassis rake and ruining the camber and caster readings. Placed under the rear wheels, they bring the entire vehicle perfectly back to level. Crucially, these aren’t just solid blocks of aluminum; they feature integrated, free-floating slip plates on top. As a mechanic adjusts the suspension or bounces the car to settle the chassis, the rear tires can slide laterally without binding on the shop floor, ensuring absolute accuracy in the setup numbers.
